UCSF Dolby Regeneration Medicine Building

NYA provided schematic design / bridging documents and peer review for this 80,000 sf laboratory building, which is situated on a steeply-sloping site with limited access. NYA developed a scheme to support the new building with a space frame with limited support points to minimize the impact to the site, facilitate construction and satisfy the architect’s vision of an elevated building. The building was an ideal candidate for base isolation, since a “natural moat” was inherent due to the floating nature of the building.
