NYA provided the structural engineering for the adaptive reuse and vertical addition to the historic 1930’s Public Health Services Hospital complex at the Presidio of San Francisco. In addition to redeveloping the main 6-story hospital, three new stories of construction were added to an existing 3-story wing. The Presidio incorporates 154 new apartments and seven 3-bedroom townhouses. The grounds feature landscaped courtyards, natural habitat restoration and walking/biking trails. Some amenities include a jacuzzi, gym, and a fire pit.

Structural intervention included new reinforced concrete shear walls and FRP installation.
