Project Details:
The Sun America Center is a 39-story, steel office tower that is 1.2 million square feet and has four levels of subterranean parking.
Solution:
NYA designed a dual seismic resisting system that consists of a ductile modified tube coupled with eccentric steel-braced frames in the core. NYA provided an optimized steel solution with 21 pounds per square foot. A mega-transfer beam was designed to create a column-free lobby space.
